5 Steps to Getting and Staying Motivated with Your Workouts

  1. Get Dressed for Your Workout

Have ever heard the phrase, “Dress the Part”? One way to get motivated for your workouts is to get dressed to workout. Find some clothes to workout in that inspire you or buy a new outfit to workout in. If you are excited to get into your clothes to workout, it will give you the excitement to get started and stick to it.

2. Switch it Up

Don’t do the same workout every time. Have a variety of exercises and routines that you do so you don’t get bored. It will make you not dread your workouts if you have some variety. Make your workout fun and remember that you can change it up if you feel it isn’t working for you or you start dreading your workout.

3. Surround Yourself with Inspiration

It is important to surround yourself with things that inspire you. Make your workout space an area of inspiration. Find inspirational quotes to hang on the wall. Wear clothes with inspirational phrases. Put on some music that gets you pumped to workout or play an artist that inspires you to workout.

4. Have an Accountability Partner

Find someone that can be your accountability partner. Pick a person such as your best friend or a fitness coach that can help keep you on track. You want someone that will motivate you, inspire you and help get your through those days when you might not feel like working out. It is easier stick to a fitness routine if you have someone that you can lean on and talk to.

5. Set Goals

Last but certainly not least, set short term and long-term goals for your workouts. Make sure the goals you set for yourself are realistic but challenging. An accountability partner can help you stick to those goals and help you set them as well.
