7 Simple Ways to Practice Self-Love

Everyone deserves to be loved and appreciated. The most important person to love you should be yourself. It can be challenging to show ourselves compassion. You may feel like you are being arrogant but that’s not true. To be happy in life, we need to be happy with who we are. With self-love, we can go far in life!

There are so many simple ways to show yourself love. Here are 7 ways to get you started:

  1. Pick one awesome thing about yourself each day and repeat this to yourself several times in the day.
  2. Stop comparing yourself to other people. We are all unique and have characteristics that make us wonderful. So, focus on what you can do and stop comparing yourself to people on social media, TV or the person you went to high school with.
  3. Pursue something you are passionate about. This could be a hobby or a new business you have always wanted to start. Don’t wait for tomorrow. This will make you feel energized and give you that extra boost of energy.
  4. Realize that self-love is always a work in progress. Don’t be hard on yourself if you slip up. Take it one day at a time and try your best. Remember that all you can do is your best. You can’t do any better than that.
  5. Forgive yourself for any mistakes you have made in the past. You can’t change the past. All that is important is that you learn from the mistakes. Use what you have learned to make your future better.
  6. No one is happy all the time. So, don’t feel like you are failing if you have moments where you are not happy or feel negative. What is important, is that you pick yourself back up.
  7. Surround yourself with those that support you. It is important to have encouragement, love and a positive support system to keep on the best path to self-love!
